I haven't been to Italy before. But I liked Rome very much. The streets are beautiful, the people are nice, the food is delicious. I was happy to wander around the ancient ruins and feel the breeze of older times. I think you would like it there too.


Nah, I didn't like the way the Russian football team played. There was even a petition to fire all the football players and make a new team of younger players after the European Cup. But France was really good. You got the second title, right? :) That was cool. I was also very happy about Iceland and Wales. They showed great results.

As you know, I didn't go to the Netherlands due to the change of job. But I spent much time out of town. That was quite relaxing.

All in all, do you think your summer was eventful and enjoyable?

I am very sorry about your Granny. My condolences.


I am doing okay. I will have a 4-day trip to Rome next week. I am really looking forward to it. I have never been to Italy before. Have you?

I've visited a number of events in Moscow this month including food festivals, art exhibitions, and hand-made fairs. It was fun.


We had had a lovely spring weather just like you. But yesterday it got rainy and windy. Hope it is for a short while, and we will enjoy the sun again soon.


I think the Russian football team will take part in the European Cup. At least the official website says so :) Do you follow hockey matches? The championship has started.


I think this website can be a good option. Especially if your friend has used it and is satisfied with it. Are you going to give it a shot?


Trips are great. I'm glad that you had an opportunity to go on a trip.
I haven't thought through what I am going to do in summer. But probably, I will go to the Netherlands in August. Also, I am going to spend many weekends in the country.

Our footbal team used be very bad, now it's a bit better. Just slightly better than before. I used to watch some matches, but they had always been such a disappontment that I gave up on them. Do you watch any football matches?

Oh yeah, I understand. The situation is different if you're making friends after moving to another city. Well, I am not an expert on socializing. I think the easiest way is to enroll in a hobby club or something like that (similar to rugby group). Or you could get introduced to new people by your current friends. What do you think?

xD Oh yeah, it's hard to resist the urge to dress in summer clothers on the first sunny day. Except for this, I have no difficulties in spring either.

Same here. Like there will be no holidays ever. And weekends seem so short after longer holidays!

Yeah, it would be convenient. I use a more complicated way to keep up with Interpals. The alerts and notifications are sent to my email. The app on my phone informs me that I have a new email. However, sometimes this algorithm fails, and I get no notification x) Glitchy system.

Russia is good at some sports. But we really suck at others. For instance, our national football team is just an object of ridicule.

I think I am okay with not being close friends with my colleagues. I prefer to stick to my old friends. Besides, they live far from my town.

Have you been playing rugby for long?
Well, there're some authentically Russian sports. Most of them have something to do with wrestling. But national sports are only popular in some regions. As for the most popular kinds of sports, I would say that skiing, football, volleyball, basketball, hockey, tennis, athletics are leaders here.

Nope. Sometimes we chat a little bit on Whatsapp, but that's all. It seems that we don't want to remind each other of work in free time. What about you? Do you see your colleagues outside the office?

Oh, so warm. Here it's about 15 c below zero. Not very comfortable to go for a walk.

I have checked the date of your message. It's dated Nov 16. And I thought that only one week had passed. Time flies by, but I suppose it's not that bad when you have winter holidays not so far away)

Do you play rugby? I don't remember you telling me this. Is rugby popular in France? In Russia it's pretty uncommon. I've seen it only in US movies.

I love impressionism and post-impressionism best. I wish I could understand contemporary art. Unfortunately, many of contemporary works (probably even most) are lost on me. They may stir up something inside me, but I find it difficult to understand what the artist wanted to say by his work. What is your favourite period and what is your attitude towards modern art?

My colleagues are mostly very nice people. And I chat with a few of them when I have an opportunity.

Yeah, temperature can drop very suddenly. I wonder whether it's cold now at your place. Here it's been about 1C below zero for some time. It's been no snow until now. But today it has been snowing heavily. Perhaps, everything will be covered in snow by Monday. Christmas spirit and all that stuff)
