I get surprised when people tell me they learn norwegian xD I never knew someone would be interested.
Hm, tourists usually visit famous places.
Like museums (Munch museum, National gallery, Viking ship museum etc)
Parks: Vigeland sculpture park, Botanical garden, Slottsparken etc
Buildings; Royal palace, university of oslo, akershus festning, holmenkollen, city hall etc
(actually, if u walk with ur head facing the sky u will be able to see many beatiful buildings) ^^

When are you going, btw? It's bus for train from Oslo S (Oslo Central Station) to Hønefoss/Drammen but I don't expect that to be much of a problem though. That is the most urban part of the journey anyway. Forget what I said about the tunnel, it has been fixed some time a go.

You must also see the Change of The Guards at Slottet (The King's house) http://goscandinavia.about.com/od/historyart/qt/changeguardoslo.htm I'm an officer in the Royal Norwegian Navy, so I think that is a must!

Yeah, the train ride is very beautiful. Lot's of tunnels though on the western side of the mountains, but I've hear that tourists finds the ride amusing. I find it quite boring, I rather hike in the mountains or take the plane:P. I'm not sure it is open though, I think there was a fire in one of the tunnels, I'll check for you.

Do you mean in Bergen or in Oslo? If I were to visit Oslo, I would defiantly swing by the government buildings which were destroyed in the July 22nd attacks. They won't stay like that forever. Besides that, hmm. I have never really been a tourist in Oslo, maybe the Museums at Bygdøy. There you can see the Framm-ship, which Roald Amundsen used to reach the North Pole and also the Gokstad ship which is a Viking ship from 890. The ship was used as a "burrial camber" for a Viking petty king. I would also visit the royal palace (even though it is not that big), Stortinget (the parliament) and Akershus Fortress. In Bergen I would visit Bryggen (literally means the docks, they are pretty old), Bergenhus Fortress (it is just next to Bryggen), Bergen Cathedral, Fløyibanen (which is a funicular that takes you up to Fløyen, and gives you a magnificent view over Bergen City centre. If you like to hike, you should walk Vidden from Fløyen to Ulriken, but you should then have some one with you who knows the route (I usually walk there once a week if the weather is good). It strikes me when I write this, that I have never really seen any of these attractions. Maybe I should come with you, and learn something about my homeland:P...
