The Mars Volta is one of the most amazing modern bands, they are like King Crimson + Led Zeppelin (because of the vocals) + funk + salsa. Come on, it doesn't get much better than that. Kinda like modern Pink Floyd, but a bit more eclectic in their music.

Yup, I also love Pink Floyd. It's hard to remember all the bands I listen to, I love diversity, everything from electronica to death metal can be good, right? And I don't wanna miss any good song out there.

Plenty of inspirations, I think. Mainly John Frusciante from Red Hot Chili Peppers (as well as his acoustic/electronica solo stuff), Omar Rodriguez-Lopez from Mars Volta (+solo stuff), Radiohead, a bit of Hendrix, Queens of the Stone Age and some stoner rock, Nine Inch Nails, Soundgarden, Tool, Pearl Jam. Not all of them in one song, of course lol but I try to get inspired by various artists, especially those who are eclectic. I pretty much don't have to listen to jazz if I listen to The Mars Volta, and I don't have to listen to funk if I like early RHCP since they played funk-rock then, and that's enough for me to come up with some funky licks, I think.

Oh, I've added your MSN, so we can talk there if you want, I think that it'd be much better than those wall posts

Kiiind oooof...nah ;) I mean, true, I use digital drum kit, but only because I can't afford a real one (plus, I'm not a drummer and there are no drummers nearby). Same with bass guitar, although I'd like to own a bass someday. Still, my room is far too tiny to keep 3 guitars in it, I've got a Stratocaster and an electro-acoustic already. So, I like to compose rock music with a twist, so I try to incorporate some electronica, jazz, funk, blues etc. in it. Name it prog-rock if you want, I don't like to pigeonhole stuff, it's simply music :)

Renaissance man? Oh my, sounds great, but I guess that I'm not good enough to be on par with Leonardo da Vinci and his peers ;) And actually I'm not that busy. Studying French and English doesn't take a lot of time because I usually talk with foreign people to enhance my vocabulary etc. so it's fun. Meanwhile, I can play the guitar and compose stuff, I'm used to working on multiple tasks at the same time, so I'm more like Microsoft Windows than Leo da Vinci ;) And acting is kind of a lesser interest of mine, I used to perform quite a lot but nowadays I prefer music, I think.

When I saw your nickname, I was sure to see some gory films in the Fav. Movies section. And zing! Re-Animator. Anyhow, I look on the rest of your profile, and I like what I see ;) Great musical taste, great favourite movies...yup, I guess that it's time to make friends with someone from Sacramento.
