Really? I didn't even know that! Well, I guess I can share what I know about Irish culture :) I am Irish, and Native American :) Anyways, the reason we celebrate St. Patricks day, is because, back in the day, there was a lot of violence over religion. Then a monk named Patrick came to Ireland and introduced Catholicism, everyone liked the idea, and converted, they all united under that religion. So, we celebrate St. Patricks day, because of him :)

but as a foreigner, 拼音 is very confusing.

eg. [ian] sounds like [I Y E N] not [I Y A N]
hm, i don't think you understand what i mean :(
it's very complicated to explan what problem i have.

拼音 < very hard for a foreign people :D

actually ,the some north region in China we are in the same case,My wife is a Chinese teacher ,she has corrected me a bit。 but still many people cant distinguish them
