Yes! I've visited there four times now. :) This past New Year's Eve me and my friend drove 6.5 hours at midnight to go there for the first shrine visit. 2.5 million people came during January 1st and January 3rd. It's also a favourite of mine. :) I also like Enryakuji, a little north of Kyoto, on Hieizan (Mount Hiei). But Gion is especially memorable too.
